The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission met in Hawaii, United States for the commissions 15th Tuna meetings. Representatives from the member states discussed tuna measures for the vast regions waters, including Papua New Guinea.
Business PNG traveled to Hawaii for the commission meeting, gaining exclusive access to the region’s biggest fisheries meet.

The system has revolutionized management of the tuna fishery by integrating fishing industry reports of catch, vessel position and activity data generated by the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS), and fisheries observer reporting.
