Despite the continuing geopolitical and global economic challenges, 2025 marked a year of remarkable progress and innovation for FIA PNG members. This was demonstrated by a substantial rise in our annual tuna catches, reaching nearly 300,000 metric tons, along with growth in our tuna fleet to a total of 53 purse seiners. Looking ahead to 2026, we expect to expand our fleet further to more than 55 tuna purse seiners.

New Logo: Our 5-year annual report also shares and uses our new logo, inspired by both Small-Scale and Industrial Fisheries, as well as our care for the Ocean and People. We are including sub-logos for the four fisheries that FIA PNG is still working on: Tuna, Lobster, Prawn, and Mud-Crab
